ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME AVAILABLE

JOB SUMMARY:

As an Accounting Associate, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive accounting services to our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass various accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, audit assistance, tax preparation, payroll processing, and W-2/1099 preparation. You'll collaborate closely with clients and team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of all accounting tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

2. Aid in tax preparation tasks, including gathering tax documents, data entry, and preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.

3. Process payroll for clients, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll disbursements.

4. Prepare and distribute employee W-2 forms and contractor 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines.

5. Reconcile payroll transactions, tax withholdings, and employee benefits to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

6. Utilize accounting software and payroll processing systems proficiently to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

7. Assist in special projects and assignments as assigned by managers.

8. Assist with administrative tasks as needed- answering phones, scanning documents, scheduling appointments, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

2. Previous experience in accounting and payroll processing, preferably in a public accounting firm or related environment.

3. Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll regulations, and tax laws.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)

5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact professionally with clients.

7. Knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements.

8. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.

9. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial and payroll information.
